Welcome to Fishhunt
For the field sports enthusiast…..
We at Fishhunt organise a wide range of field sport activities and provide all the necessary equipment for the discerning game sportsman and woman. We are also able to provide professional tuition for youngsters, beginners and improvers in all aspects of fishing.
Our location in the South of Ireland, between the Blackwater and Suir rivers, provides a wealth of fishing opportunities for trout, salmon and sea-bass. The majority of our beats are exclusive and private with the added benefits of generations of local knowledge and the field/river skills of our team of ghillies to improve the chances of catching fish.
All events are tailored for maximum enjoyment by our clients, with a broad choice of alternative activities ranging from pistol and rifle target shooting to fly-tying to choose from. There is always something new and interesting to do when you are with us.
For learning or improving fishing skills…..
Philip Maher is not only an accomplished fisherman but also a qualified casting instructor and fly-tyer. He is a Fly Fishers Federation master which is considered to be the highest level of qualification that can be achieved in fly-fishing. Whether it is single or a double-handed fly rod your skill level can be improved quickly so that you are competent in the water, can cover fish efficiently, and get maximum enjoyment from your fishing. If you want to tie your own flies as well then Philip can teach you how to do that too.
For the best choice of fly-fishing tackle, accessories, and fly-tying materials…..
Fishhunt has its own tackle shop which offers a wide range of clothing, rods, lines, reels, flies and all the accessories that you might require to give you the best possible chance of catching lots of fish. Products from all of the leading suppliers are on display, providing the widest choice with the benefit of expert advice on your selection. If you forget or run out of essential items then they are available day and night from our on-site store.
